RII Demonstrates New “Harvesting Savings” Workshops
In February, RII delivered a workshop series for the Lansing Board of Water and Light (LBWL), an electricity and water utility serving communities in Lansing, Michigan. LBWL’s Energy Waste Reduction (EWR) programs help customers operating cannabis production facilities receive technical assistance and financial incentives for efficient equipment. LBWL brought on RII to educate their team to more effectively claim energy savings while improving programs and customer experience. The collaboration marked the official debut of RII’s new Harvesting Savings workshops, which are geared toward helping utilities and energy efficiency program administrators who serve agricultural producers.
On February 2nd, RII Technical Director Gretchen Schimelpfenig met with the Franklin Energy team serving EWR programs for Harvesting Resource Savings in Lansing Cannabis Production Facilities. The Franklin and LBWL team had technical conversations with RII about cultivation processes, energy waste reduction, traditional and high-performance technologies and running indoor agriculture programs.
On February 9th, the larger LWBL Customer Projects team joined a roundtable discussion with RII for Helping Cannabis Customers: Infrastructure Planning for Successful Projects to discuss transmission & distribution planning in designing for cannabis service upgrades and grid impacts.
